Mead Mania: Succubus Dreams Review

Succubus Dreams (Georgina Kincaid, Book 3)

Title: Succubus Dreams
Series: Georgina Kincaid Series, book 3
Author: Richelle Mead

Official Summary:
Some days, a girl just can't catch a break...

...especially when the girl in question is Georgina Kincaid, a shape-shifting succubus who gets her energy from seducing men. First there’s her relationship with gorgeous bestselling writer Seth Mortensen, which is unsatisfying on a number of levels. It’s not just that they can’t have sex in case Georgina inadvertently kills him (generally a turn-off for most guys). Lately, even spending time together is a challenge. Seth's obsessed with finishing his latest novel, and Georgina's under demonic orders to mentor the new (and surprisingly inept) succubus on the block.

Then there are the dreams. Someone, or something, is preying on Georgina at night, draining her energy, and supplying eerie visions of her future. Georgina seeks answers from Dante, a dream interpreter with ties to the underworld, but his flirtatious charm only leaves her more confused—especially as the situation with Seth reaches crisis point. Now Georgina faces a double challenge—rein in her out-of-control love life, and go toe-to-toe with an enemy capable of wreaking serious havoc among mankind. Otherwise, Georgina, and the entire mortal world, may never sleep easy again…

My Review:
The lovable hell serving, soul sucking succubus is back and better than ever in Succubus Dreams (say that 3 times fast!). Georgina has had her share of drama lately, and it only gets worse. Her human boyfriend Seth has been crazy writing his new novel, and she is feeling the strain in their relationship growing. How could she not when she can’t so much as kiss Seth too long without sucking away bits of his soul? Too bad her problem with Seth is only the tip of the iceberg. Niphon, Georgina’s arch nemesis, is in town with a new totally inept Succubus named Tawney that she is required to train. As an added bonus, Niphon is staying in town until Tawney takes her first soul – oh joy! Of course Niphon seems to be up to something and Georgina wants to find out what it is before it’s too late. You would think that it ends there for this poor succubus, but there is more to add to the crap piling against her. Every time she falls asleep, Georgina is having dreams of a daughter that she knows she can never have. A dream that feels so real that she wakes up longing for the little girl. She also wakes up with her life force drained, and a need to re-up by sucking human souls. This happens repeatedly, and she must find out why. The only person she can turn to is a magic wielder named Dante who is filled with evil magic. His flirtatious ways and indirect answers just have her more confused then before. Add to the fact that angels are holding meetings in her house, imps are trying to get Seth’s innocent soul, and she can be held accountable by hell if Tawney doesn’t take her first victim soon, and you have non-stop drama, excitement, mystery, and action from the very first page!

This book is what sold the rest of the series for me. I always liked the series, but the emotional rollercoaster ride you have while reading this book has most readers (me included) admitting that Mead’s writing and this series now reaches a whole new level of awesomeness. Add the surprise ending and this is an absolute must read!

This book is rated 5 fangs:

If you finished the first 3 of the series, and still want more. Check out the next few installments:

Succubus Heat (Georgina Kincaid, Book 4)

Succubus Shadows (Georgina Kincaid, Book 5)

What did you think of Succubus Dreams? Did you find the ending as shocking as I did? Which new character caught your interest? Let me hear your thoughts!

Yes, this is the one! I love Carter and Roman! Georgie is super bad-ass, but idk if I like her with Seth. Do you think she should be with Seth or Roman?

Thanks :-)

Oh i love Seth for Georgie. Although in the first book, it's Roman but when he came back in Book 5, I'm not sure. It's like the connection wasnt there anymore.

What do you think will happen in book 6? I really think that Georgie's husband was reincarnated in Seth's body. What i dont get was the problem in Georgie's papers.
