Discover the Undiscovered: UF and PNR Indie Writers!

As many of my readers know, I am a huge fan of Paromantasy indie authors. Discovering the undiscovered is a huge thrill for me. Reading works from authors who have talent that can compete with the big names in paranormal romance and urban fantasy brings me joy. Being able to help promote these talented writers who are just starting out and/or who chose the self-publishing route is an honor, especially when many of these authors are so talented that I feel confident they will become a household names in the paromantasy community in the near future. A huge example is HP Mallory. I am sure many of you remember the interview and giveaway I hosted with HP a few weeks ago. You can read my interview with HP and my reviews of her two books here. Both books were rated 5 fangs and I told my readers that she is one of the greatest PNR and UF authors out there, right along side Patricia Briggs and Richelle Mead who are two of my personal favorite authors. Along with our love of paromantasy, HP and I share a passion for helping readers connect with the works of great indie writers.

HP Mallory has a new website  www.indieurbanfantasy.com. Here you can see a list of indie authors along with book reviews, book synopsis, a list of new releases, etc from some of the most talented paranormal romance and urban fantasy authors out there. Discover the undiscovered and head over to Indieurbanfantasy.com.

Did you check out the website? What did you think? Who is your favorite paromantasy indie author?

Linger Book Review

Linger (Wolves of Mercy Falls, Book 2)
Title: Linger
Series: The Wolves of Mercy Falls - Book 2
Author: Maggie Stiefvater

Official Summary
This is the story of a boy who used to be a wolf and a girl who was becoming one.

Just a few months ago, it was Sam who was the mythical creature. His was the disease we couldn't cure. His was the good-bye that meant the most. He had the body that was a mystery, too strange and wonderful and terrifying to comprehend.
But now it is spring. With the heat, the remaining wolves will soon be falling out of their wolf pelts and back into their human bodies. Sam stays Sam, and Cole stays Cole, and it's only me who's not firmly in my own skin.

My Review
Linger is a nice, light YA paranormal romance that is backed by superb writing and a great twist on the werewolf perspective. I must admit that I was not a mega-fan of Shiver like many other PNR lovers (please no hate mail..lol). I did like it, but I was not in love with it. I enjoyed Linger a bit more than I did Shiver. The main reason is the addition of Isabelle and Cole's POV and very crazy relationship. Linger picks up where Shiver left off. Sam, who was a werewolf about change to his wolf form for good after years of shifting, has been cured and is back in the arms of Grace, his girlfriend who found a potential cure for his condition. As always, life does not always go as planned and it is now Grace who is showing symptoms of the disease. It is now up to her bf Sam, her friend Isabelle, and newly introduced were Cole to help her before it's too late. Sam and Grace continue to love each other til no end. It is Grace's sickness that provides the dynamic in the relationship, combined with the sudden interests that Grace's parents are taking on her life and relationship. My favorite entertainment came in the form of the hot rock and roll werewolf Cole, and the ice queen with a heart Isabelle. When you put these two together, you get fireworks. They are both so messed up that when combined, it just works. This whole book is interesting, keeps you guessing and is a pretty enjoyable read. I felt that it was filled with a lot of fluff and this kept the first few chapters at a very slow pace. I feel this book story could have been told in half the time, but I did like the storyline and twister ending. Is it my fave book and/or series out there?..No, but it is worth reading, especially if you love light PNR books.

This book is rated 3 1/2 fangs:
