Genre Wars! What's your favorite genre and which book in that genre made it your favorite?
My favorite genres are paranormal romance and urban fantasy. When i was younger, I was the little kid reading horror stories by RL Stine while my friends read fairytales. As I got older, I got into romance, but would always pick up the occasional Stephen King. Then I picked up Charlaine Harris's Sookie Stackhouse book and realzied I can have the best of both worlds in paranormal romance. Soon urban fantasy caught my attention and I never looked back. I still read the occasional chick-lit story, but nothing compares to PNR/UF. It was love at first word..lol

Book Blogger Hop

“How many books are currently in your To-Be-Read (TBR) Pile?”
Wow, I'm pushing over 1000. I'm glad I'm not the only one. Is it crazy that the thought that I have such a huge number of books to read excites me?..lol. Not having a bunch of books on hand is a much scarier thought. I am such a book whore..lol

If you review books for the 18+ crowd, then join this hop!!

Have a great weekend!

When I was a kid, I read IT and Pet Cemetery and although there was a wicked scary paranormal element to both, it really threw me off because they were so scary. As a young teen, I read romance - usually historicals, because that what my best friend's mother read and she lent me her books. I stopped reading for a long time, until I picked up the Harry Potter. HP got me back into reading and really digging the paranormal genre - because it wasn't scary as hell anymore. I've really only gotten into PNR an UF in the last few years and as cliched as it is, Twilight got me into it - then House of Night, Vampire Diaries, Night World, Blue Bloods and Vampire Academy. What got me into the more adult reading was PC Cast's Goddess summoning series and Richelle Mead's Georgina Kincaid series.

Good reading ~ Escape by Fiction :)

Wow, lady!!! 1000 books TBR? You are such a book whore LOL :) UF is my favorite genre as well, but I think it's got to have the paranormal romance or else it's just not as fun/memorable. For me it was Mercy and Patricia Briggs who set my sights on UF! I think my favorite of the series was either book 2 or 3 (I love Stefan! He's a great third choice *winks*) Hope you're having a great one! Now to go check out all those great giveaways ;)

I have close to 1000 in my TBR pile. It's daunting, isn't it? I really hope I get a chance to read them all before I die, lol.

Over 1000 books? Yikes! haha. That's about up there with everyone else. I only have a few and I like it like that. Although I'm sure at some point, I'll break that habit....and when I do, it will be bad! haha.

What is urban fantasy exactly? I don't read enough paranormal romance but I like it.

I'm with you on the PNR/UF. They will always I think be my favorites. I like to mix it up with other stuff here and there, but those are still my loves. :)

And there is NOTHING wrong with loving your tbr pile. It's like having hundreds (or thousands in your case lol) of little doors to other universes just waiting to be explored! I know, I'm sounding a little Never Ending Store, but hey, it's true! :)

Thanks for stopping by friday blogs hops as well!

*High-fives* To another paranormal romance lover!!! Happy follow friday! Thank you for sharing and for stopping by!

Hi All,

Christy - Book 4 is the best of the Sookie series. Run out and read it asap..lol

Marla - thanks! I feel the pnr love :-)

Alexis - sorry for the delay. Urban fantasy is like fantasy books, but they take place in urban settings. Many times they also have a romantic twist, but it is not the main theme of the novel. Romance usually plays the background of the story with mystery and adventure in the foreground.

Sarah - great minds think alike!

Nikki - Love the name of your site!

Moonlight Gleam - Yay, another PNR Sister!! *High-Fives* right back!!
