Oh Richelle, you did it to me again...It seems that every Richelle Mead series is amazingly addictive and thrilling until it comes to the final installment of a series. I was not too happy with the end of Vampire Academy and I feel that Succubus Revealed is a bit lackluster compared to the rest.
Georgina is stil the same kick-ass, yet good-hearted succubus that we have all come to know and love. The love of her life Seth has chosen to be with her even though he is risking his soul and her crazy bunch of Supe friends are still by her side. Life is good good, which is always a sign that there is danger to come when it has to do with Georgina.
Soon her happy existence is shattered when Seth's SIL takes ill, she finds out she is being relocated to Las Vegas and the people around her seem to be harboring a secret..one that will change her life forever. As she gets closer to uncovering the truth she soon realizes that the secret is bigger than she ever realizes. What she finds will shake not only her world, but Heaven and Hell and she can only hope that she can protect the people she loves from the backlash.
So, what can I say..it was good, but not great. Let me start with what I love about the book: I love the humor! The whole set of characters are funny as always and I love their interactions. I love how Georgina has grown and is able to accept her past and look forward to the future. I love how the books ties all the loose ends and secures it with a nice pretty bow.
Now, here's what I don't like: What happened to Roman. I don't want to spoil it, but he is such a great character and a friend to Georginia and I feel that what happens leaves much to be desired. It is hard to really say what I mean without giving much away, but the last time we see him something horrible happens and then it's over. We don't hear anything else about it. What happened? Is what everyone thinks the actual way everything went down? I did not like it one bit. Secondly, I felt like the action was there, but there was a lot more talk then anything else. I love the heart-pumping action that leaves me eacing through the pages. In this book, it just wasn't there. Don't get me wrong, there was some great moments, but nothing memorable. Lastly, the ending. I liked the ending but I would have liked to see a bit more into the future to something that was referenced to a few times. I thought that would have made a clever and wonderful ending. If you read the books, you will know what I mean.
Overall, it was good but not up to par with the other books that make up the series. Being that this is a series ender - it made it a much tougher pill to swallow.
