A Tale of Two Goblins by HP Mallory Book Review

A Tale of Two Goblins, A Paranormal Romance/ Urban Fantasy (Book 2 of the Dulcie O'Neil Series)

Title: A Tale of Two Goblins
Series: Dulcie O'Neil, Book #2
Author: H.P. Mallory

Official Synopsis
A Dreamstalker- a creature that stalks and kills its victims in sleep.

A fairy in law enforcement determined to stop him.

A potions smuggler who possesses something she wants.

A vampire with his own agenda.

And a partner who couldn't possibly be sexier or more frustrating.

Dulcie O'Neil is a fairy working in law enforcement for the Netherworld.

When Knight Vander approaches her with a case regarding comatose victims, she agrees to help him, imagining the most difficult part will be combatting her attraction to him.

But, what Dulcie isn't betting on is the fact that the case becomes personal when she learns all the victims are somehow linked to her.

When her best friend falls victim to the Dreamstalker, Dulcie must do everything in her power to ensure her friend's survival, including associating with criminals and accepting the fact that desperate times do definitely call for desperate measures.

My Review
Action-packed, edge-of-your-seat, heart-racing, laugh-inducing, mystery-solving, tear-jerking, sexually charged page-turner of a read. To sum it up: This book has it all, and then some. Just when you think H.P Mallory's books couldn't possibly get any better, she writes the next installment to the series and manages to do the impossible - to one up a previous book that was thought of as "un-upable." Yes, it's not a word, but this book deserves one of my famous portmanteau terms aka "Evie's completely made up" words.

Dulcie is back and avoiding the world. After being betrayed by her friend and boss Quill, she decides to lay low and completely avoid men, especially one man in particular...Knight. Unfortunately for her, Knight is unavoidable and has a case he needs her to work on. A number of people are going comatose and all roads lead to a Dreamstalker. The problem is that all of his victims link back to her. With the number of victims adding up, Dulcie agrees to help Knight on the condition that the relationship is purely platonic. But all hell breaks loose as Dulcie not only tries to battle the threat of the Dreamstalker, find out who he is and save the victims, but she also has to battle her growing feelings for Knight and the pain inflicted by the loss and betrayal of Quill.

Things get even worse when the Dreamstalker ups the ante by taking her best friend as his latest victim. With the stakes higher than ever, Dulcie goes against all she believes in to save her friend. With everything to lose, she throws caution to the wind and risks it all to save the one person who has stood by her side. With her life spiraling out control, will Dulcie be able to save her friend and defeat the Dreamstalker or will she die trying? The Dreamstalker is striking, time is ticking, the victims are dying and it's up to Dulcie to stop him.

Take book 1 of the series: To Kill A Warlock and times everything you loved about by 10 and you have A Tale of Two Goblins. Everything is amplified: The sexual tension between Knight and Dulcie is through the roof, the mystery is even greater -with twists and turns in every corner, the action has been turned up with Dulcie risking her life for her friend, and the laughs and tears are aplenty as we join Dulcie on the ride of her life! This book is a must read for every paranormal romance and urban fantasy fan!

I do have one complaint: I have to wait in high anticipation for the next installment to come out :-)

Coming Soon On Paromantasy! Stacey Kennedy and HP Mallory!

Photobucket

We are in for some fun! Next week is the first ever "Author Week." We are going to spend a week with Stacey Kennedy.

If you've never heard of her, stop what you are doing right now and pick up one of her books immediately. Any book from her is sure to leave your heart-racing, blood boiling, temperture rising and adreline racing. Each series is completely different, but each has the fundamentals of a great PNR/UF book: Mystery, Action, Romance, and Suspense! Check out her website and see the awesomeness that is Stacey Kennedy!

Speaking of awesome - HP Mallory is back with book 2 of her Dulcie O'Neil series: A Tale of Two Goblins. I am luck enough to be a beta reader for the great HP so I can tell you that this book is even better than the first, To Kill A Warlock. How she is able to top an already perfect book never ceases to amaze me. Talk about edge-of-your-seat amazing. This book truly has it all: Humor, Action, Romance, and more twists and turns then a rollercoaster. Anr to top it off - a "Holy Cliffhanger" ending. If you haven't picked up an HP Mallory book then run off and get one right now. Every PNR and UF fan must read an HP Mallory books - it is in the rule book, I checked! Check out my review here

These two authors are a definite force to be reckoned with. So, if you are a paranormal romance and urban fantasy fan, which you probably are since you are on my site - run off and add their book to your TBR list. You will not be disappointed!

How did you come up with your blog name?
I knew I wanted my blog to be about my favorite genres: Paranormal Romance and Urban Fantasy. That term was always took soo long to say so, like I always do, I made up my own word: Paromantasy. And that is how my blog, Paromantasy, was born. Plus - it sounded way better than the alternative: Urbanfomance and Paronourbfan...lol.

Evernight by Claudia Grey Book Review

Evernight (Evernight, Book 1)

Title: Evernight
Series: Evernight, Book #1
Author: Claudia Grey

Official Synopsis:
Bianca has just left the small town where she's spent her whole life. She's a new student at Evernight Academy, a creepily Gothic boarding school where her classmates are somehow too perfect: smart, sleek and almost predatory. Bianca knows she doesn't fit in.

Then she meets Lucas, another loner, who seems fiercely determined not to be the "Evernight type." There's a connection between Bianca and Lucas that can't be denied. She would risk anything to be with him—but dark secrets are fated to tear them apart... and to make Bianca question everything she's ever believed to be true.

My Review
This book is filled with romance, suspense and twits-turns that will leave you wanting more. Bianca has been uprooted from her home and now has to live in the creepy Evernight Academy where her parents work as teachers. Feeling utterly alone, she plans a plot of escape only to find haven in a fellow "outsider" and complete c Lucas. They become an item after instantly feeling a connection, but soon their worlds come crashing down as their darkest secrets are revealed and they find that the person they love the most is the one who who can be trusted the least. When the smoke clears and the lines are drawn, will Lucas and Bianca be able to stand the ultimate test or will their worlds tear them apart?

Evernight is a must-read for all YA Paranormal Romance Lovers!!

True Blood Season 4 Spoilers and Videos!

If you are like me and and are currently suffering from True Blood withdrawal symptoms, then you are going to love this...Spoilers! The cast and producer Alan Ball sat down in LA at the Paley Center to talk about the upcoming season of True Blood! Click here for the video of  the discussion:
Here's a few key spoilers to get you going:
  • Eric has amnesia, as those of us who read Dead to the World by Charlaine Harris already could have guesses, and he becomes very un-Eric like. What does that mean? Well, picture an innocent Eric who is sweet, child-like and dependent on the people around him, especially Pam and Sookie. Yup - that's what un-Eric like means. He messes with the wrong people and his memory is wiped clean, leaving him wandering aimlessly around until a certain person rescues him. Hmm - wonder who that is?
  • Tara undergoes a transformation after her little vaca from Bon Temps. See the video below!
  • Andy becomes a V addict. Another one bites the dust. First Jason, then Jesus and now Andy.
  • Sam finds love.
  • Arlene's pregnancy gets a little...weird. Can you say demon child?
  • Russell will be back with a vengeance - look out Bon Temps
  • Sookie leaves the land of the Fae to return home, but is now aware of her new powers. She says goodbye to Bill and hello to Eric and Alcide.
  • Bill's battle with Sophie Anne continues, but he gets a little "help" from a mystery person.
  • That's Police Officer Jason to you!
  • Godric returns, but don't get too excited - he is still dead after all.
Here is a clip of Eric's amnesia scene that HBO posted recently...Enjoy!

What embarrassing thing have you done on cold medicine?
I'll tell you only if you promise to keep this between us. Do you promise?....Ok, I'll tell you.
Does falling asleep in the middle of talking to a group a people at a crowded party count? yup, I thought so. Oh, why do you make me relive that night? Remember, this is our little secret. :-)

Question: "Who's your all-time favorite book villain?"
This is a hard one! Hmmm, I have to say Victor Dashkov from the Vampire Academy series by Richelle Mead. He was smart, sadistic, cruel, sarcastic, yet brilliant. He's the kind of villain that has many layers, and you never know what path he might lead you on. He seems to always be one step ahead of you and that makes him both dangerous and interesting - it also makes him my favorite villain :-)

Happy Friday!! I look forward to hopping over to all of your blogs!! Let's hear your answers!
