Review of Urban Fantasy / Paranormal Romance book To Hell and Back by HP Mallory

Title: To Hell and Back
Series: The Lily Harper Series, book 3
Author: HP Mallory
Genre: Adult Urban Fantasy
Review: I am a beta-reader for HP

Official Synopsis
Lily Harper’s third mission into the depths of the Underground City finds her battling its demonic residents in the Toy Store, level four of the hellish afterlife.

Although Lily’s guardian angel, Bill, is by her side every step of the way, Bill isn’t much of a consolation when it comes to fighting things that go bump in the night. Instead, Lily would much prefer to rely on the brawn and brains of the two thousand year old Celtic warrior, Tallis Black. But Tallis is busy battling his own demons…the internal type.

While in the Underground City, Lily finds herself on the wrong end of a demon’s wrath. A surprising encounter with the Master of the Underground City, Alaire, not only ensures her survival but also leaves her in the unenviable position of being in Alaire’s debt. It’s no secret that Alaire harbors a strange and unsettling fascination with Lily but she’s more concerned with solving Tallis’s deep and dark mysteries hidden beneath his stoic exterior.

While becoming better acquainted with the master of the Underground City and coming ever closer to unraveling the enigma that is Tallis Black, Lily can only hope she makes it through hell and back.

My Review
Plan not to do a single thing for the next day or so because this book is all consuming!! Once you pick it up, it is going to be a struggle to put it down!

To Hell And Back is filled with action, romance, twists, turns and an epic cliffhanger ending that will leave you begging for more!!

We pick up exactly where we left off in The Underground City, and that is asking: "Where is Tallis?" Our favorite Celtic warrior has gone missing, but Lily will soon find out that his disappearance is the least of her worries. She finds him and that when everything goes wrong.

With a new assignment that will literally send her back to hell, the Master of the Underground City determined to make Lily his latest conquest and Tallis set on keeping Lily at an arms length emotionally, Lily soon learns that the only one she can count on is herself.

On her journey, Lily soon finds out that the ones she trusted may be the ones she should run from. When the world comes crashing down, will Lily be able to survive her trip To Hell and Back?

One word: AMAZING! I finished this book in one day because I could not put it down.

Tallis has so many layers to character: he is sweet, yet grouchy. Sexy yet damaged. But, we have just begun to scratch the surface of who he really is. He is hiding a secret that will change everything.

Lily has grown so much and she is truly taking charge of her life. She soon finds out that the only person she can really trust is herself. It seems that everyone around her has an agenda, and she is smack-dab in the center of it. Who can you really depend on when the chips fall? The answer is not as clear as it seems.

Alaire...oh Alaire. I love that I love him because he is ohhhh soooo baaaad. He is funny, sexy and absolutely dangers in the way only a Leader of the Underground can be. He takes Lily and the reader for a crazy ride so put your seat belt on folks because it is bumpy! You will love him, hate him then just hate that you love him. He is not just a bad boy, he's an evil one...and I love it!!

Bill is also back and funny as ever. One scene in particular made me love his character even more. Let's just say, he will literally carry Lily to safety if need be ;) Those that have read the book will know what I mean.

I love this book, I love the characters and the story will keep you reading through the night. It is an unputdownable read that will absolutely leave you wanting more asap. The only bad thing about To Hell and Back is that we have to wait for book 4 :)
