My Review
Oh hail the Queen, Rachel Caine. Twelve books in and Rachel Caine still suprises me with each stellar installment of the Morganville Vampire Series.

This book is one sentence: Black Dawn is a hold-on-to-your-seat thrill ride of twists and turns that will have you laughing, crying, leave your heart-pounding, all the while keeping you guessing as you try to unravel the mysteries surrounding the draug and what it means for our favorite Morganville residents Shane, Claire, Michael, Eve...and Mernin (I just had to add him!).

Rachel Caine is a genius. She has done what some of my other favorites failed to do...deliver a series where each installment is exciting and new, where just when you think it cannot get any better - it does. She created a series where the novels don't begin to fall flat( ahem...Sookie Stackhoue Novels anyone?), instead they pick up steam and surprise you with even more possibilities of adventure, trials, tribulations and romance. This book is no different.

The Glass House team have come to....get used to is in ruins (really - they were ruled by vampires so I can't say they loved it). If the vampires are scared of the draug, then humans certainly are shaking in their boots (make that goth boots if you're Eve). The one thing they could always count on is each other, until now. But with chaos around them, they must face the ghosts that have caused them to hurt the people they hurt most. Michael and Eve are on the outs after his vampire side left her nearly dead, Shane must face his inner demons that are determined to bring him down while Claire is trying her best to be Shane's life jacket when dreams and reality are no longer distinguishable. Myrnin proves that he will do anything to save his town...and Claire. The vampires are fighting, characters we have come to know are dying and it is a war that will only mean death and destruction for the losing team. The question is: how many will die before the war ends?

Inner struggles and the town's survival collide as the members of the Glass House fight to stay alive and to stay together. When the dust is settled and the war is done..life in Morganville will never be the same!

This book is pure action, danger, surprises and anguish with bits of bittersweet moments and tons of quirky laughter. Rachel Caine proved once again that she is not scared to rock the boat and kills a few characters that we have come to know...yes, bodies will be dropping. Another reason to admire the Queen, Rachel Caine. Twelve books and I am still shaking my head in surprise. Just when you think you know where a story line is going, she switches it up and leaves you reeling in the aftermath. I love it.

This was an unputdownable read to an amazing series that gets better with each new installment. I am counting down the days until book 13, Bitter Blood, is released in November. I cannot wait!!

Dear Superstar Writer, Thank you for the constant action-packed, romance-filled adventures that let me escape reality and for a short time enter a world where I can be that badass heroine with the vampire boyfriend, surrounded by a bunch of quirky friends who are probably not human. Thanks for reminding me how much fun a little imagination and excellent writing can impact one's life. You are my favorite pasttime. And did I mention you rock?

Literary Vacations: If you could take a trip this summer to any place within a fictional book, where would you go? Tell us about your summer dream vacation!
Wow, this is a good one. I would have to say that I would love to visit Pelham Manor from the Jolie Wilkins series by HP Mallory. It seems almost like a fairytales, except it is filled with creatures that go bump in the night, but secretly make your heart patter for the danger and passion they elict. In this case, the manor belongs to a warlock and Jolie, the funniest witch you will ever meet, and her bff, who is human, live with him. The book is amazing and here are some pics of Pelham Manor that HP Mallory posted on her website. He livs in of Alnwick, England.

My Review
Here is my one long sentence gush session..er, review: Wuthering Frights is an unputdownable, thrilling, action-packed, emotional roller coaster of a read that will have you laughing, crying and your mind rattling as Dulcie tries to find a way to fight her tyrant of a father, keep up with the lies of her now shady second life, and leave the life she once new behind to protect the ones she loves the most. The cliffhanger ending will leave your heart on the floor and begging for more of this amazing series.

Dulcie O'Neil series, How I love thee? Let me count the ways...
#1 - Non-stop action - Dulcie is now at the mercy of her tyrant father who runs the Netherworld with an iron fist. She is forced to go against everything she believes in by joining the life of crime, but saving Knights life is worth it. In joining her daddy's minions, she is on a constant track of lies, danger and action as she tries to keep up with her life as an Investigator and the crimes that are going down under her ex-lover's nose. The constant whirlwind that is Dulcie's life will be sure to leave your heart-pounding and your fingers racing through the pages.
#2 - Emotional Roller coaster This is the most emotional of the entire series and that is saying something. In Dulcie's effort to protect Knight and the ones she loves, she is forced to leave them behind. The interactions with Knight are filled with heartbreak and anger as you see our power couple put to the test. Will they survive?? Let's just say, then ending will surprise you. Along with Knight, her relationship with Sam is also suffering, along with that of her other friends and you can't help but want to hug the lot of them.
#3 Mystery and Revelations - Dulcie is not the only one who wants to see daddy dearest removed from his "throne". Someone knows what is happening and they are spilling the beans to Knight. The problem is: does this person know about Dulcie and what does that mean for her and the lives of her friends who she is trying to protect? When nothing is at it appears, who can you trust? The answer may shock you! Along with these mysteries are revelations that can rock Dulcie's world. As I said, not everything nor everyone is who they appear to be. Many know a lot more than they let on. Let's just say as the secrets pile up and the truths are revealed, the way we look at some of the major characters will be dramatically altered!
#4 Love - You cannot have a Dulcie O'Neil series with some romance. In this book the love between Knight and Dulcie is bittersweet as Dulcie does her best to protect Knight by adding distance between them. But that is not the only hints of romance that we have. We see all whole new side of Bram and this new sweet spot of his makes him that much hotter. Sure, we still don't know his true intentions, but actions speaks louder than words and his actions has proven that Dulcie is not just a passing fancy. With tension between Dulcie and Knight rising, Bram may just prove to be a contender for Dulcie's heart.
# 5 Keeping it New and Exciting - One thing that HP does brilliantly, is the constant addition of new characters, the continued growth of our current characters and the way she weaves a new storyline from past events. It is like a huge unfinished puzzle that we are working through little by little while trying to decipher what the big picture is going to be. I love the progression of Dulcie and Knight. We see a whole other side of Knight and it is not to pretty - but he is only human...well, Loki but you catch my drift. Dulcie has really grown and is willing to risk it all to save the people she loves, now that is what I call a heroine. Bram's layers are pulled back with each book and I cannot wait to find out more. The supporting characters are still funny, spunky and lively as ever. Add the new characters of the evil daddy, a new fairy with the same spirit of Dulcie, but with a chosen careers in crime and the new partnership between Dulcie and her ex-boss/crush Quill and Wuthering Frights makes for a highly entertaining read.

If you haven't guessed by now - I love this book and this series. HP is one of the greatest in this UF/PNR genre and I cannot wait to read more of this series and the Jolie series. The cliffhanger ending left my mind reeling - HP, don't make us wait too long for book 5!!

My Review
This book is a never-ending rollercoaster ride of romance, action, danger and suspense, with a cliffhanger ending that will leave you begging for more.

Our favorite ghost whisperer Tess and her ghost lover Kipp are back and this time they are taking on a demon. When ghosts start to flock to Tess for help from a dark spirit, Tess and Kipp uncover an evil unlike any other. To stop it, they must team up with Dane Wolfe, a mysterious agent with a unique talent of his own. He holds the key to helping Tess with her ghost talking abilities, but he is also up to something. With a demon to fight, murders and missing people popping up, and an agent proving to be more trouble then his worth, Kipp and Tess must fight to save innocent lives, and for each other

When everything is against you, will love truly conquer all or will it crumble under the weight?
I love, love, love this series. It is unique and only Stacey Kennedy can pull off a believable story where the heroine is human and the hero is a ghost . They have to fight for each other, while also fighting crime as Tess takes on her new role as a member of the Memphis PD. This installment proved to be an emotional rollercoaster and I cannot wait to see what happens in the next installment of the series!

Tess is as witty as ever. I love that she is so perfectly flawed and relatable. She has grown to trust her instincts and her abilities and now embraces the ghosts she once ignored. She is in no way fearless as she quakes in her boots each time she is faced with scary situations, this time with a demon, but she is courageous in that she fights her fears and does what she has to do. She doesn't have to worry to much with her ghostly lover by her side.

Kipp is the hero you would never see coming...literally since he's a ghost. Somehow Stacey Kennedy has pulled off creating a ghostly swoon-worthy hero who is fearless, charming, sexy and oozes masculinity,. He may be a ghost of a cop, but he is still on the job helping Tess as she gets the hang of how the PD operates.

Together they are on fire and the scenes between these two will have you all hot and bothered in no time flat. How does "the nasty" work when your partner is a ghost? Well, let's just say they get creative :-)

The side characters are also back and as funny and loving as ever. Some new additions are added to the mix including the ever mysterious Dane Wolfe. He also has special "abilities", and teaches Tess a few tricks to dealing with ghosts. But when he tries to come between Tess and Kipp, the unthinkable happens that changes everything. The cliffhanger ending will leave you stunned and searching for the release date for the next installment of this incredible series.

This is another heart-stopping, action-packed, sexually-charged thrill-ride of a read that will have you racing through the pages and desperately wanting more!

My Review
First let me just say: THIS BOOK IS AWESOME!
Okay, I just had to get that out of the way.

This book in one sentence: An action-packed, sensual romance-filled, mystery-chasing thrill ride of a lifetime that will leave you begging for more Bones and Cat Action.

Cat is back and after years away from the love she left behind, she is still finding it hard to move on. Luckily she is busy as she heads up a secret government branch that deals with all the nasty supernatural buggers that go bump in the night. Her life changes when a hit is put on her head and an unexpected encounter brings her to the man she loves and fears the most...Bones.

Bones promised Cat that if she ran, he would find her. he just didn't think that there would be other looking for her...dead or alive. Now he must protect the woman he loves the most and the one woman who broke his heart when she left. Together they must find the person who wants her dead, but what they find is the last thing they expect.

When your past comes back to haunt you, is it possible to start over? Or will the past just put you one foot in the grave?

This book is amazing. I zipped right through it - work, chores, and husband be damned....shhh - don't tell him I said that. This book has everything that I want: scorching romance, heart-pumping action, and a combination of laughs, thrills and mysteries that left me glued to the pages until the very end.

Cat is still the bad-ass with a kind heart that wants to protect everyone and that usually means she jumps right into the heat of action without thinking. Not to worry, Bones is always there to catch her when she falls. He is not the quintessential hero: he's brass, super cocky and has the mouth of a trucker. But, he loves Cat whole-heartedly and will do any and everything to protect her....cue the swooning.

These two are electric and they are now one of my favorite couples in Paranormal romance and urban fantasy. This book is even better than the first, and that is no easy task!

My Review
This book in one sentence: An action-packed, danger-filled story with murder, mystery and thigh-clenching, need-to-take-a-cold-shower romance that will have you racing through the pages and leave begging the author for me.Wow, that is one long sentence...lol

This story centers around Cat. She is a freak of nature with a mission. As a half-vampire, half-human, she uses her additional abilities to hunt down evil vampires in order to avenge her mothers rape by one of the undead, resulting in the birth of our bad-ass heroine. Her plan was simple - hunt as many of the undead suckers down until she's dead or they no longer exist. She was planning to do just that, until she met her match in Bones.

Bones is a Master Vampire and a sort of bounty hunter, killing vamps with a price on their head. When a beautiful human seems to be eyeing him in a dangerous way, he lets her think she has bested him, but he turns the tables. He soon finds out that she is not a human, but a half-breed. One that could prove useful on his vigilante deals. He makes her an offer she can't refuse, be his partner and together they can kill a bunch of blood-suckers, or die. She chooses t partner up with him, neither knowing that this partnership will change their lives forever.

This book is AWESOME! Where have you been all of my life?! Sorry, I had to get that out of my system. Heart-pumping action, scorching romance, a snarky fearless heroine who is coming into her own, and a Master vampire with an British accent, tons of power and some serious skills in the bedroom. What's not to love? Every page was filled with murder, mystery danger and action - it was non-stop. I couldn't tear myself away!

Cat is everything I love in a heroine. She is tough, brave, and yet has this vulnerability that makes her relatable. She is truly coming into her own and realizing that she was blinded by prejudice when it comes to vampires, especially Bones.

Bones is not your ordinary hero. He can be cruel, brutally honest, and dangerous, but when he loves - it is whole heartedly. His rough edge makes the tender moments that much more enjoyable. He is swoon-worthy, drool-worthy,take-me-I'm-yours-worthy...you get the picture.

Add of all of those elements I loved and pair it with a shocker, cliff-hanger ending, and "Ladies and Gentlemen, we have a winner."

This book is a must-read for every urban fantasy and paranormal romance fan. This book is 5 fangs of unputdownable goodness!

It's April, and that means we are that much closer to the June premiere of True Blood Season 5. What better way to celebrate then with some spoilers! So here is a list of spoilers including the new members of the Authority the will make Bill and Eric's undead lives a living hell.

Meet the Authority

My happy dance spoiler is that Carolyn Hennessy, who I’m a fan of from my General Hospital lovin’ days is cast as a new vamp in the Authority, Rosalyn Harris.

Eric has a new sister in town by the name of Nora (Lucy Griffiths) and she is part of the authority.

Peter Mensah will join True Blood as Kibwe, Chancellor for the Authority

Jacob Hopkins will play Alexander - a sadistic vamp chancellor of the Authority turned at 9 – sounds like fun!

Christopher Heyerdahl will portray Dieter Braun, an ancient, powerful vampire who plays a large part in the intelligence of the Authority and especially enjoys enhanced interrogation. Recognize him? He also played Marcus in the Twilight Saga.

Other New Characters

Valentina Cervi is joining True Blood as Salome – an ancient vampire seductress with possible links to Russell

A new Faerie comes to Bon Temps - Camilla Luddington has been cast as faerie Claudette.

My Review
This may be a novella, but it sure packs a punch. Danger, romance and non-stop action will leave you wanting more of Raven and Finn.

Our favorite kick-ass shapshifting law enforcement agent, Raven Grace, is back and better than ever. She is coming to terms with her shifting abilities cast upon her after a demon attack, she is still in love and going strong with her Scottish hunk and recovery captain Finn, and they are getting the hang of parallel universe hoping. Of course, nothing last forver and her new found happiness is put to a test when their is an attack on her police unit. With all clues pointing at another demon murderer at play, Raven and Finn must work on catching the murderer before it's too late.

When playing into the game of a killer, will Raven and Finn once again come out on top or will they lose their lives protecting the people that they love?

I love Raven and Finn. Raven is tough, funny and could shape shift into anything - how cool is that? Finn is such a swoon-worthy hero with his quite charm, fearless attitude and he's Scottish - need I say more? Together, they electrify as they solve murders, deal with supernatural bad-asses and come to terms with their ever growing relationship.

I do wish the book was longer, but Toni LoTempio has promised a full novel in early 2013 - I can't wait!!

I always wanted to go into Law Enforcement, and after being turned into a Coli – Shapeshifter – it seemed more of a natural progression than ever! I have a tendency to be a bit snarky, which I’m trying to overcome, as well as a bit of a bad-ass. But in my line of work you’ve got to be tough! Although sometimes I come across as too much so – it’s not intentional, honest. Sometimes my humor is misinterpreted.

In Raven’s Kiss we learned that you were turned into a shape shifter after surviving a demon’s bite. Have you completely come to terms with your being turned from mortal to shape shifter?
Not completely, but I’m working on it! I think being in a relationship has helped me to grow a lot. Finn’s taught me to take all my negative energy and turn it toward something positive. And then there’s the whole demon-chasing thing. Kinda grows on you after a while, and being able to shift into different beings is a huge help!

You mentioned Finn. The one person who seemed to have a big impact on you is the ever swoon-worthy Recovery Captain Fin McPhee. How has your relationship with him impacted you? Is it working out? Curious single ladies are dying to know :-)
Well, I’ve always been a very private person, so opening up and sharing is rather difficult for me. However, since Finn has these mental abilities it’s kinda hard to keep much from him. He can read me like a book. Is it working out? Let’s say so far, so good, but as we all know, every romance is not without angst. Finn and I have not reached that yet but I have a feeling it might be just around the corner (in our next installment, maybe? Hmmmm)

What has changed since for you since your demon hunting adventures in Raven’s Kiss ?
Not to give too much away, but there are changes happening even as we speak down at the Recovery that will have long-reaching effects. Oh, and Hedy and I have actually been getting along….miracles do happen.

Finn is from a sort of “parallel universe” then you. How are you handling the back and forth?
We’ve been managing quite nicely. Demons are pretty much the same in any universe. It’s a bit off-putting since the people I know in my universe have completely different roles and personalities in his, but it’s nothing I can’t handle. Maybe a bit less confusing now that I get along with both Hedy’s LOL.

Being friends with Hedy does seem to make life a bit easier for you..lol.
Are you still enjoying your role in Recovery Organization with all the changes that are now being made?
Working with a hot Scottish partner – battling demons and other evil creatures – tracking down clues and foiling the baddies – what’s not to love? (especially the working with a hot Scottish hunk part!)

What is your favorite thing to do when you get a day off?
I do enjoy reading a good book, (I’m a big JD Robb fan!) maybe getting Finn to take a trip to a winery, just putting my feet up, relaxing and v egging out. I also like visiting a spa and getting a full body massage. Being a Recovery agent is stressful – plus shifting’s hard on the bod!

You’re a shape shifter. What is the craziest thing you’ve ever shifted into?
A Limeleon – a chameleon with the head of a lion. Tiny body, big roar! It’s actually pretty cool.

What can you tell us about your current adventures as a Recovery Agent in Raven’s Quest?
In Raven’s Quest, Finn and I have to track down a demon worshipper before he unleashes an unspeakable evil upon the world, so…it’s back through parallel time again, folks! This adventure is short but sweet, (too short, some have said LOL) however, our creator has promised the next one will be full length and juicy – look for it early 2013.

Yay, you must thank your creator Toni Lo Tempio from me. I can't wait to read more of your adventures. I see that Finn is waiting for you and there is some more supernatural butt to kick so I'll let you go. Thanks for stopping by Raven!

My Review
This book in 3 words: Fun, Unique, Suspenseful

Fae, Video Games and Danger, Oh my! Really, what more could you ask for?

Feyland is a YA Fantasy/Sci-Fi book that I could not pull away from. It is different from many other fantasy or paranormal books that I have read. The story revolves around rich and privileged Jennet and the poor and responsible Tam. Each of them leads totally different lives, but one thing they do have in common is gaming! Each is an experienced Simmer, but when a new game that Jennet's father is building starts to transfix in the real world, they must team up to stop the fey from entering their world. With the weight of the world on their shoulders, they must play to win or die trying.

I loved this story, the characters, and how well-written and clever Feyland was. Each character was so different, yet shared many similarities that went beyond the boundaries of economic status and wealth. Jeanette may be young, but she is strong, smart and refuses to give up. When a loss in Feyland threatens her life, she is determined to get it back and to do that she must find the best gamer in her new school. That is where Tam comes in. Tam has the world on his shoulders and yet refuses to crumble. Instead he stands strong and takes care of his younger brother, his ill mother and now Jeanette. They come from two different worlds, but their love of gaming and their mission to stop the creatures of Feyland from taking over the real world brings the two closer together. The romance is sweet, the action is heavy and the surprises that pop up will have you racing through the pages to find out what happens to Tam, Jeanette and the world when Feyland becomes reality.

If you are a fan of fantasy, the paranormal, folklore and/or sci-fi, you will love this book! It is a YA that even adults will enjoy...with a G rating of course. Feyland is action-packed with tons of danger, heart-warming romance, and tons of surprises.

Q: What book would you love to see made into a movie or television show and do you have actors/actresses in mind to play the main characters?
There are so many but if I had to choose one, I would pick Vampire Academy by Richelle Meade. Action, romance, a kick-ass heroine and a swoon-worthy hero. Add danger, mystery and romance to the mix and it makes for an awesome book and movie. I do have a cast in mind. I would pick Emma Stone to play Rose, Chris Hemsworth as Dimitri, Blake Lively to play Lisa, Chace Crawford as Ethan, and Zac Efron as Christian.

Book Moments: What has been your favorite moment (scene) in a book that you've read so far in 2012? Please be kind & not include spoilers

I just started reading the Night Huntress series. I love them! I'm on book 2 of the series, One Foot in the Grave. Here is an amazing scene between Bones and Cat.

“You are so arrogant.”
Bones came closer. “I’m very powerful. That is truth, not arrogance. Every member of your team combined couldn’t protect you as well as I can, and you know it. Whether you want my help or not, you’re getting it.”
“Don’t worry about me, I can take care of myself.”
I was suddenly gripped in Bones’s arms. Maybe that was my own fault and not just due to his speed. I’d been so busy keeping up my emotional shields, I’d forgotten about my physical ones. And truth be told, I never expected him to bite me.
Yeah, I’d let my usual vampire guards down all the way with Bones.
His fangs buried deep into my neck. The strangest kind of heat flooded all through me. Bones tightened his arms around me, tilting me back, and licked my neck before sinking his teeth in again.
My fists thumped on his back. It was all I was capable of doing to tell him to stop, since my mouth only seemed good for making little ecstatic noises.
I found myself thinking if I were going to die, at least I’d die happy.

How hot is that? Excuse me while I get a glass of ice cold water...lol

My Review
This book in 3 words: Terrible, Annoying, Putdownable

I hate to be so blunt and write such a negative review, but Evermore sucked, for lack of a better word. I have book OCD so I have trouble not finishing a series that I start, but I think that this book was so bad it may have cured me from my disorder.

Evermore is based around Ever and Damon. Ever is a teenage girl who was in a terrible accident. Her family died, but she walked away with an unusual side effect - she can see auras and the ghost of her dead sister. After losing her parents and sister (in the living world anyway), she goes to live with her rich aunt. There she attends school and tries to lead as much of a normal life as possible. Her world changes when a new student, Damon, joins her class. He is unlike anyone she has ever met. He's mysterious and can do things that most people cannot, like run exceptionally fast and displays superior strength. When she decides to uncover Damon's secrets, what she finds changes her life forever...

So my little take on this synopsis sounds good right? Well don't be fooled. Ever is everything that I dislike in a heroine. She is extremely annoying, whiny, usually does not stand up for herself, and does not question a thing. Damon is also the worst hero I have ever come across. He is just plain weird. Is he mysterious? Sure, but in a crazy weirdo sort of way, instead of the silent, deadly and sexy way heroes should be. I also found him to be a bit pompous, too aloof and did I mention he was weird?

The array of side characters were just as annoying as Ever. In the spirit of Ever's friends, I will say that "they were like soooo not cool." Haven was so pushy that I wanted Ever to woman up and hit her. Damien was just about the only character I could stand - kind of.

In the end, if I read a book where I don't mind if an atomic bomb drops on the characters and they do not survive, I think that is a tell-tale sign that the book is pretty bad.

I hate to give a purely negative review so I will point out some of the good things. I love the cover (wow, looks can be deceiving), I liked the unusual name of the heroine, Ever, and I liked the concept of Immortals vs Vampires. That was unique and I appreciated it. I just wish it made for a better story.

Hey all, it is Evie the Paromantasy addict here. I have a new love affair and it is with Syfy's new series, Lost Girl. I can't believe it when my paromantasy lover friends say, "what is lost girl?" so I am here to tell you about it. I can't be the only one loving this show...can I? If so, that has to change because it is incredible!

Lost Girl is about a succubus, Bo, who had no idea what she was. Her parents abandoned her and after sucking the life out of her boyfriend during her teen years she realized that she is not like other girls.

She lives the rest of her life under the radar...that is until she is caught saving a human from the clutches of potential rapist. When she is caught, she learns that there is a world of creatures who are either light fey (good) and dark fey (yeah - you guessed it..bad). They force her to put her power to the test and when they find she is incredibly strong, each side wants her. Problem is that she doesn't want them or their alliances, so she did what no other Fae in history did before her...she chooses humans. That's right, she is a rogue succubus who is learning to control her powers and fight Fae that are terrorizing humans. With a awesomely funny human sidekick Kenzi, a handsome (light Fae) Were lover/partner/dinner Dyson, and a human scientist, Lauren, determined to help her (and sleep with her), we have the makings of an amazing show.

This is the first season and I eagerly wait for Monday nights to get my thirst for "Lost Girl" quenched. The fact that every creature that goes bump in the night has their place in the fey world, witty plot twists and two kick-ass heroines keeps me tuning in every Monday.

My Review
This book in 3 words: Mysterious, Romantic, Different

Into The Darkness is a well-written unconventional love story riddled with mystery, touched by a bittersweet romance and has an ending that will leave you floored.

Amber is a teenage girl who is wise beyond her years. With that sense of maturity comes isolation. Her "friends" and the rest of the school finds her weird and a prude leaving her seeking solace in a world of her own making. She is beautiful with strong ideas on what is right, who to love and how to act. She sees this beauty and her unwillingness to act reckless as must teenagers do as a bit of a weakness on her end. If only she were a little more forthcoming she would be able to have the close friends she dreams of, a boyfriend and less alone time. Her whole life changes when neighbors move in and she meets Braydon.

Braydon is anything but normal. He hardly leaves his house, quotes, Therou, sneaks around the town trying to go unnoticed and seemingly spies on her. When she confronts him she can't help but be pulled to his unualness, his wisdom that is beyond his years, and his ability to just get her. But when she finds that he is unwilling to meet anyone, walks around mostly at night, and disappears at awkward moments, she learn that he is not what he seems. There is a dark secret that she is desperate to uncover, but will finding out the truth bring them closer together or tear her apart?
When the person you love is the one thing that can drive you to madness, could you walk away or be willing to step into the darkness?

This book is a fast read. It is not an action-packed adventure that I am used to. Instead it is an ode to past romances with the tale centering around self-discovery, mind-boggling mystery and forbidden love with a paranormal twist. I loved the characters and the way we peeled back a layer to find the true person within with each page turned. I empathised with both Amber and Brayden, and cheered for them to have the happily ever after ending that they deserved.

The surprise ending left me rereading the pages to make sure I didn't misread the words. The mysteries were there and the twist in the end places the puzzle pieces together in the most astounding way. I truly was in shock and after that I was able to think back to all the clues that pointed to this twist. I loved it!

It is different from the romances of today, but this twist on the classic love stories of yesterday left me eagerly anticipating the release of the next VC Andrews book. I must admit that this is my first "VC Andrews" book so I cannot say if it is better than the others, but I enjoyed it.

My Review
This book in 3 words: Thrilling, Witty, Amazing!

Now that I gave you 3 words to describe this book, let me give you a few more. This book is an emotional roller coaster ride that will take you through twists, turns, action, romance, danger and mystery. Just when I thought I had it all figured out, HP Mallory hits us with an ending that we never saw coming!

Our favorite witch, Jolie, is back with the rest of the gang and this time Jolie finds herself leading the Underworld. She was pre-destined to be Queen so she puts on her big girl undies to try to do right even if all she wants to do is run away. If that wasn't stressful enough, the men in her life are driving her mad. The man (or Warlock) who stole her heart but refuses to take things further, Rand, is against monarchy. With Jolie now the Queen of the Underworld she finds herself being ripped away from the one man she loves. Her world is spiraling out of control and the one who is there to catch her is Sinjin, her extremely sexy, yet mysterious vampire. The problem with Sinjin is that he always has a hidden agenda, and Jolie intends to find out what that is. Trying to place love on the back burner, she starts to concentrate on the state of the Underworld and the fact that Lurkers (half vampire, half humans) are hunting Underworlders. It is up to Jolie and the gang to stop them before it is too late. But will the people she trusts and love be by her side or will they be the ones to bring her down?

This book is UNPUTDOWNABLE. I read it in one sitting. Jolie is coming into her own skin and learning to accept the role of Queen. It is not easy, especially when the man you love is against it, but she does it because it is right. This makes me love Jolie even more. She is independent and doesn't let a man tell her what to do. Rand is...Rand. he takes a few steps forward and a few steps back. The sexual tension between them is crazy. The decisions each made sometimes made me want to smack them, and other times, when they did the right thing, I wanted to kiss them. The back and forth is pure torture...and I loved it. Sinjin, my favorite vampire, is as seductive, mysterious and dangerous then ever. Sinjin fans will be happy to know that we get to see another side of Sinjin, even though his words constantly contradicts his actions. He's a total enigma and I just want to unravel him...in every way possible...lol

He is not the only mystery to be solved. The Lurkers are coming and their numbers are growing. Along with attempting to sort out her love life, Jolie also needs to come up with a game plan to stop them. Life is a total Witch for her...

The cliffhanger ending was a twist I did not see coming! Jolie may be Queen of the Underworld, but HP Mallory is Queen of the Cliffhangers. I cannot wait to find out what happens!! All I can say is Holy Sh....Cheese and Crackers. I'm still reeling from that surprise ending.

I must admit that there is a lot of back story is in this book, but it did not bother me or take away from the story. I knew going in that it would have a lot of information since this is the first in the series that is not self-pub. I didn't mind since I had a ton of "Oh, that's right. I totally forgot about that" moments. I liked the refresher. It helped bring back the memories of the past two books.

Although you can start the series from Witchful Thinking, I wouldn't recommend it. I think readers new to the series should still start off with book 1, Fire Burn and Cauldron Bubble, because it is a) awesome and b) there is too much back story, emotions and actions that led each character to where they are in Witchful Thinking. They have all been through so much and I feel like the readers will be cheating themselves of some amazing experiences with the characters if they start with book 3. I know they will still enjoy Witchful Thinking, but Fire Burn and Toil and Trouble were just too amazing to pass up.

Witchful Thinking is rated 5 Fangs! A total Must-Read!!

This book in 3 words: Suspenseful, Funny, Unputdownable.

Solid is a YA sci-fi/fantasy blend that people of all ages will enjoy. You will love the wide-array of characters, the constant mysteries and wathcing the story unfold as each character learns that they are anything but "normal".

An unsanctioned science experiment that was performed on unsuspecting mothers resulted in numerous children being born with altered DNA. This can cause "powers" in the child that may not be noticeable at first, but the government is about to find out the extent of these powers.

With that, children who were in this mad-scientist playbook must report to a government facility where these teens learn about thier abilities while enjoying some time hacing fun in their new state of the art diggs.

Clio is one of those kids. She has a tough exterior but a fun group of friends (all genetically altered) are able to break through and together, they explore their powers. Learing you are a genetic mutant is hard, but realizing how different you are is just plain freaky. When their powers start to come to light, the "friendly" atmosphere starts to get a little unsettling. Clio has a feeling that the government is hiding something from them and she, along with her friends, intends to find out what it is. What they find could not only change their lives, but end it for good..

This book is so much fun. I loved piecing together the puzzles, the powers that began unfolding and the constant surprises. By the end of the book I felt like one of the gang and I was sad to let them go..at least until the next installment was released. Add the sweet romantic element between the tough, witty Clio and the sweet and uber-smart Jack and we have ourselves a winner in Solid.

My Review
Torn is a YA paranormal romance centered around Alec (the alpha of a shapeshifter pack), and Adriana (the new girl in school). I enjoyed the characters and the fact that each member bought a new dimension to the Pack, but I have to admit that while I did like Torn - there was still much to be desired.

Alec is the Alpha of his pack after his father was killed. He may be young but he is smart, strong and determined to keep his family together. Adriana is the new girl in school who has a tough exterior, but has a good heart. Life has never been easy for her and now it is going to get that much harder when she finds herself in the middle of a shapeshifter war. after she unknowingly hangs out with Alec's rival pack leader Brandon. Adriana soon sees the evil lurking behind Brandon's facade and the one person who can save her is Alec. Alec is set on finding out everything about Adriana. He doesn't trust her and is set on uncovering her secrets. What he finds changes his life forever.

Alec finds himself falling in love with Adriana , but when she decides to stay away from Brandon tensions rise even more between the Packs. Soon Alec must choose: save the girl he has fallen for or keep his family and his Pack safe.

I loved the characters and found myself invested in their story. Adriana is delicate, yet strong and I rooted for her from the beginning. I just wanted to give Alec a hug. He is young and had to deal with so much. He is the Alpha and his pack relies on him, as well as his human sister and ailing mother. Add a treacherous rival group of shapeshifters trying to bring you down and that is a lot to deal with. The pack member each had their own personalities and I felt like they were old buddies by the end of the book.

Why do I not love it? At times, the book would get unbelievably slow. We would get sucked into the monotonous daily life of Alec and just when I was about to put the book down, the action would start again. This cycle was continuous throughout the book. With a bit more editing I think this book could be great.

I also love unique names! Some cool ones I've come across includes: Callupo, the sexy hero from To the Cliffside by B Jane Lawson. There is also Sinjin the hot and dangerous vampire from HP Mallory's Jolie Wilkins Series. Zsadist from the Black Dagger Brotherhood...my fave character in the series :-) Etoile, the always level-headed witch from The Stella Mayweather series by Camilla Chafer.

Book Blogger Pride: What do you take pride in when it comes to blogging?

I take pride in the work that I do. The ability to write honest reviews and bring some really amazing books to the attention of book lovers like myself.

I also take pride in the relationships built (readers, authors, publishers, and bloggers alike). I am elated at accomplishments of the authors that I have come to know. Authors like HP Mallory, Stacey Kennedy and Toni LoTempio who started off as indie authors and have gained representation. HP Mallory has been able to give up her day job and become a full-time author - how great is that? They are inspirations. Some of the best works are from indie authors and I love to help them in any way that I can and I am so happy when things go right for them :-)

I am happy and take pride in the fact that I am able to work with such a talented group of people. Amazing bloggers, talented writers, clever marketing executives and creative and supporting readers. I love you guys and I continue writing on my blog for you :-)

I'm cheating on this one. I love both and I have both. Here are my cuties. Petey is my cat and Bailey is my dog. Both are boys, super sweet and the most handsomest pets in the world. Don't you think?

4. If you could be anything, do anything, what would you be/do?

In the real world, I would be a famous author. If I could do anything, I would travel the world. Now if we are talking about the Paromantasy world, I would be a goddess and i would do, as pinky from Pinky & the Brain says, "try to take over the world"..lol

5. If you could have one superpower, what would it be?

Just one? Well, if i had one it would have to be teleportation. Who needs a car, bus, train, etc..when you could teleport. I guess living in NYC made this a superpower to be reckoned with :-)

My very first blog was about Twilight vs True Blood. Ironically, it is still one of the most popular blogs. Team True Blood all the way

It's a tie between "I'm sexy and I know it" by LMFAO and "What doesn't kill you makes you stronger" now a Kelly Clarkson song.

8. Favorite line from a book/poem and why?

"I was dead until you found me, though I breathed. I was sightless, though I could see. And then you came...and I was awakened." ~ Z from Lover Awakened by JR Ward. Does it really need an explanation? A guy who was cold as ice finally finds the one person who could make him come alive again. This line brought on a total swoon fest..lol

10. What's your latest obsession (can be anything)?

Other than books, many can tell you that I am now obsessed with the new Kelly Clarkson Album, True Blood, Vampire Diaries, Secret Circle, Lost Girl, Shameless, Dexter...I am one lazy mo-fo. All I do is read, watch TV, sleep and do it all over again..lol

11. If you could recommend any book/series, what would it be and why?

Wow, there's so many. I am going to stick to ones you probably haven't heard of, but first..Vampire Academy. I am a Vampire Academy whore..it is true. I can reread that series time and time again.

With that said, there is also the Jolie Wilkins series by HP Mallory that is phenomenal. Both are filled with action, romance, suspense and moments that will make you laugh, cry, and definitely beg for more. VA is unfortunately done, but there is more Jolie to come - yay!!

There is also every book by Stacey Kennedy ...I'm not kidding. It is impossible for her to write a bad novel.

I have a few. There is Richelle Mead, HP Mallory, Stacey Kennedy, Rachel Caine, JR Ward, Gena Showalter, and the list goes on.

2. Do you like to write as well as read?

I am currently writing, or attempting to write, a novel. Wish me luck!!

3. What is your favourite love story?

Don't Die My Love by Lurlene McDaniel and Z's story from the BDB series, Lover Awakened by JR Ward.

4. Favourite book couple?

Hmmm, this is a hard one. I love Wrath & Beth; Z and Bella from the Black Dagger Brotherhod series. There is an intense passion in both of these relationships and the Strong heroines are able to keep their sometimes over-dominant men in check.

5. Do you break the spine?

No! I'm not a spine-breaker.

6. Do you fold pages, or use bookmarks?

I do both - I'm a bad girl!

7. What was the last book you read that you really connected with?

Fallen by Traci Slatton and To the Cliffside by B Jane Lawson. Fallen is a dystopian romance that literally haunted me and continues to haunt me. I finished it and had to quickly reread it just to come to terms with all that happens. I cannot wait for the second installment to the trilogy.

To The Cliffside was a more fun, light-hearted read but the sexual tension between Morganna and Callupo and the cliffhanger ending left me wanting more!

8. If you could interview one writer, who would it be and why?

I would interview Rachel Caine. Her writing is impeccable and she is able to do successfully, what many other authors have tried and failed...she is able to keep a long running series fresh, fun, suspenseful

9. How many books do you read in a week?

It depends. If the books are really good I could gobble them up in a day or so. I could read as many as 5 books a week like I did with the BDB series and Lords of the Underworld series.

10. Do you judge a book by it's cover?

Sometimes. It really depends. If the synopsis is really good, I'll buy it anyway. But, let's face it - what initially makes a person head to a book/guy/girl/etc.. is that first impression and in this case it is the cover.

11. Where do you buy your books, or do you borrow them?

I buy them at Barnes and Nobles since I'm a Nookie.

Q: What would your prefer: reading your favorite book over and over again until you got sick of it OR reading 100s of mediocre books? And why?

Definitely, I would read the same great book 100 times over. Why waste my time with a mediocre book when I have a great one right in front of me. There are too many great books that need my attention :-)

Love Stories: What are some of your favorite fictional love stories?

I love love stories. Don't Die My Love by Lurlene McDaniel is definitely one of my favorites. It started me on my love of romance books and is a complete heart-warming tearjerker that I is now tattered because of the many times I have read it throughout the years.
Some of my paranormal romance faves include the Magical Sword series by Stacey Kennedy. This series is unputdownable and the love between Kyden and Nexi is both heartwarming and sometimes erotic. Magic, Romance, Humor and Action - what more could a girl want?? Finally, there is Jolie Wilkinson series. The chemistry between Jolie, Sinjin and Rand make this series unputdownable.

Paromantasy's Take on Cliffhangers in Paranormal Romance & Urban Fantasy

Hey all, it's Evie the Paromantasy addict here again with my take on cliffhangers!

There are a ton of different opinions on cliffhangers. Some hate it, some love it and I personally hate to love it. Yes, I am a glutton for punishment. Along with my crazy obsession for bad boys and/or underdogs in a book - you know, the one that the heroine never picks - I also love cliffhangers even as I curse at them. Why? I love the anticipation it gives me. I play a thousand different scenarios of what could happen in the next book. If it is a great author, I am usually wrong and if I'm not, then word to author - you are too predictable. Of course I could just be a genius..yeah - I'll like that option way better.

Cliffhangers give me something to look forward to, to dream about, a reason to stalk the author and try to get any bit of information I could to find out what could happen. Case in point: Vampire Academy. Who wasn't logging into YouTube to view snippets of quotes before the release of Last Sacrifice? Who didn't stalk her blog, her twitter, her Facebook...damn I sound creepy. Anyway, you get the point.

I love the anticipation, the big buildup to a book. Of course I am like a Fury when the book doesn't live up to it's predecessors. I scream, shake my head, throw the book - not really, I'm just get disappointed. It's like lusting after a lover just to find out at the final moment he's a eunuch.

Point is, I love to hate cliffhangers! To all the authors reading this post, I have three words for you: Bring It On!
